Malassezia is a form of yeast that is predominantly responsible for our red rusty coated canines. It’s a compound called Porphyrins, that are iron containing molecules produced by the body to break down red blood cells. Porphyrins are excreted from tear ducts, saliva, urine and lastly fecal.
